TMnet & Change in Email Settings
3 December 2007

TM Net has announced that as a result of spamming activities on their network, TM will block Outbound SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) traffic or Port 25 for all outgoing e-mails from dynamic IP addresses.

Only Outbound SMTP traffic from smtp.streamyx.com and smtp.tm.net.my will be allowed.

We wish to advise that if you are using Streamyx or TM Net to access the Internet and MS Outlook or Outlook Express to access your emails, then you may need to change some settings in your MS Outlook/Express:

1. Change your Outgoing Mail Server to smtp-proxy.tm.net.my
2. Disable "My Server requires authentication"

If you need step-by-step instructions, refer to:
For MS Outlook, click here
For MS Outlook Express, click here

Due to the changes by TM and Streamyx, you may not be able send out emails if you do not perform the above changes.
